ABOUT

The Hermit Club CIC club has been around since the dinosaurs were stomping through Brentwood marshes…well, that’s how it feels. It is a arts centre for young people, 12-19, giving them the first step into the world of creativity. Our aim is to help, encourage, inspire and support that young persons love of music

Our flagship project is the Hermit Music Club which runs two sessions both free. Friday is aimed at performers giving young people the platform to build their confidence on stage, play with like minded peers and experiment with ideas. Saturday is a drop session aimed at those just starting out or looking to pick up an instrument for the first time.

We also offer 1-2-1 tuition and organise special development workshops to introduce young people to a range of music genres, such as Jazz, Latin, African and more. And it's not all about being able to play or sing, we also run workshops in production, sound engineering and stage management.

We run a volunteers programme for any young people looking to gain experience in the creative industries or maybe looking to learn new skills.

So why not come along be a part of the Hermit family, we look forward to welcoming you through our doors.

The Hermit is supported by Essex Youth Service, Brentwood Council, Essex County Council, Essex Music Education Hub and Arts Council England.
